Silver tetradrachim with Athena wearing the helmet and the owl sitting in an amphora crowned with olive (163-150 BC). Irrespective of the constitution that exists in our country during the historical periods, the olive dominates the currencies and “crowns” the kingdom of Greece or the Republic. In Greece, on the occasion of the 13th Special Olympics held in Athens in June and July 2011, a two-euro commemorative coin was released, depicting in the center the emblem of the races, the sun that radiates, the source of life that underlines the excellence and the strength of the athlete participating in the races. Excellence is depicted with an olive branch and the force in the form of a spiral in the center of the sun.
